How

How can the Lord love such as I?
Imperfect in my thoughts and deeds;
Whose life at times has been a lie,
When only He has seen my needs.

Yet rather than condemn and judge
He patiently has borne my ways;
For He has never held a grudge,
Though I have grieved Him many days.

But now His Love is conquering me;
My heart He's broken and restored;
More tender-hearted now to be,
And softened by His Living Word.

The future days hold many a test;
I cannot tell what is to be;
But by His Grace I'll do my best
To live for Him, Who died for me.
